The black-bellied whistling duck (Dendrocygna autumnalis) is a noisy bird with a clear whistling call. Formerly also called the black-bellied tree duck – as this name suggests, it is quite fond of perching – it breeds from the southernmost United States and tropical Central to south-central South America.
