The black-faced sandgrouse (Pterocles decoratus) is an east African endemic, common in dry open country often near water. It must have water daily, and with its beak continuously in the water, it can swallow until full without pausing. It forages on berries and seeds and sometimes on insects. Both genders look alike, except females tend to be slighty smaller.
