The orange-headed thrush (Geokichla citrina) is a shy, secretive bird and is found either alone or in pairs in well-wooded areas of the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The male of this small thrush has uniform grey upperparts, and an orange head and underparts. The females and young birds have browner upper parts. In India, the race Zoothera citrina cyanotus is a resident in the hills of southern India and the Western Ghats. They have a white throat and two black stripes running below the eyes. This race is known locally as the White-throated Ground Thrush.The orange-headed ground thrush likes to eat insects, spiders, berries and fruit.
