The European tree frog (Hyla arborea) need wetlands to breed, but take to the shrubs, trees and bushes of scrubland to catch insects. A small amphibian, it has smooth and luminous skin characterised by a vivid green colouration on its back. It can adjust the colour of the body from green, grey to brown due to the colour of the environment, mood, habitat temperature, light or moisture. It will often linger in shrubs and tree canopies where males can climb even a few meters high, hide and predate on insects.
