The blue-cheeked amazon parrot (Amazona dufresniana) is named for its bright blue cheeks that fade to violet-blue towards the ear coverts. It is also known as the blue-cheeked parrot or Dufresne's amazon, and is found in northeast South America. Its natural habitat includes humid rainforest, savannah woodlands and cloud forest in lower subtropical zones up to altitudes of 1,700 metres.
