The scarlet-headed blackbird (Amblyramphus holosericeus) has a glowing red-orange head and breast, contrasting with its otherwise black body. It is found in the reedbeds of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and southeastern Brazil, with a separate population in Bolivia. It will often perch on top of reeds to sing, making loud, clear, and melodic songs audible from a distance. Sexes are visually similar, differing from other blackbird species with their unique head colouration.
