Endemic to New Zealand, the barred Coprosma moth (Austrocidaria gobiata) is named because its caterpillars rely heavily on native Coprosma trees. Found across both the North and South Islands, it is also known as the barred Coprosma carpet or the pale oblique-barred moth. It is a unique species belonging to the Geometridae family.
