The distinctive Green Leaf-hopper (Cicadella viridis) has a bicoloured pronotum – yellow at the front and green at the rear. The forewings of the male are blue-purple and may even be blackish, whereas the larger female's are bright turquoise green. It is found in most of Europe. Leafhoppers feed by sucking sap from the underside of the foliage of plants.
