The hooded crow (Corvus cornix) is an ashy grey bird with black head, throat, wings, tail, and thigh feathers, as well as a black bill, eyes, and feet. It has several alternative names which include: Hoodie, Scotch crow, Danish crow, Grey crow, Mist crow. Once thought to be the same species, the Hooded Crow replaced the Carrion Crow in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. Like Carrion Crows, Hooded Crows feed on dead animals, invertebrates and grain, as well as stealing eggs from other birds' nests.
