The yellow-billed teal (Anas flavirostris) is a duck native to South America, known for its bright yellow bill which has a black tip and a black band along the ridge of the culmen (the upper ridge of a bird's bill). It is found across South America in freshwater wetlands, particularly preferring marshy areas over fast-flowing rivers, in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay, and the Falkland Islands. It prefers palustrine habitats like marshes and bogs, often at high altitudes in the Andes, but also uses lower-ground freshwater lakes, rivers, and marshes.
