Until recently restricted in distribution to the Channel Islands and parts of the English south coast, the Jersey Tiger Moth (Euplagia quadripunctaria) is named for the distinctive markings on its wings, which resemble a tiger’s stripes. It has black and cream stripes on its forewing and red or orange bright underwings with black spots.
