The brown snake eagle (Circaetus cinereus) feeds mainly on snakes, and is able to kill venomous snakes such as cobras because it has natural protection against bites, with thick-skinned legs. Found in West, East and southern Africa, it is the largest of all snake eagles and prefers to live in dry woodland areas. Like other snake eagles, they lay only one egg per year, which is mainly incubated by the female.
