The South American rosybill (Netta peposaca), also known as rosy-billed pochard or rosybill pochard, is a duck with a distinctive bright red bill and a red eye. The female bill is slate coloured. The species name peposaca comes from a native South American word meaning "showy wings," a reference to a broad white wing stripe that's only visible when the Rosybill's wings are outstretched. Though classified as a diving duck, this pochard feeds more like a dabbling duck.
