The African pipit (Anthus cinnamomeus) also known as the grassland or grassveld pipit, is a member of the Motacillidae family of pipits and wagtails. Pipits eat a variety of invertebrates, crustaceans and mollusks, depending upon habitat and time of year. Pipits are one of the most challenging and frustrating groups of Old World birds to identify, but the common and widespread African pipit is typically the species against which all others are compared.
