The Sun Conure (Aratinga solstitialis) is a medium-sized brightly coloured parrot native to northeastern South America. Its body holds a yellow to orange hue resembling a deep bright gold overlayed with brilliant blends of green and red which definitely outshine most birds in the sky. It is noted for its loud squawking compared to its relatively small size. Sun conures are native to a small region in northeastern South America, inhabiting tropical and subtropical forests, savannas, and palm groves in Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, with possible occurrences in Venezuela.
