The Green-winged macaw (Ara chloropterus), also known as the Red-and-green Macaw, is second in size only to the Hyacinth Macaw. Often mistaken for the Scarlet Macaw because of its predominant red feathering, it is distinguished by its lower green feathers. It occurs in Central & South America. The Green-winged Macaw has one of the most powerful beaks in the Parrot world.
