The blue-throated macaw (Ara glaucogularis) previously Ara caninde), also known as Caninde macaw or Wagler's macaw, occurs only in the seasonally flooded savannahs in Llanos de Mojos in northern Bolivia, being concentrated east of the upper Río Mamoré, Beni. It is endangered because of illegal hunting for pets, and a decline in trees needed to build nests. The Blue-throated Macaw eats coconuts, flowers, and seeds.
