The grosbeak starling (Scissirostrum dubium) has a beak similar but larger than seed-eating finches - hence its alternative common name Finch-billed Myna. Also known as the scissor-billed starling, it occurs naturally on the island of Sulawesi (situated between Borneo and the Maluku Islands) and nearby islands of Bangka, Lembeh, Togian, Buton and Banggai. It breeds colonially with as many or more than 100 pairs.
