The elusive, notoriously shy Bicoloured antpitta (Grallaria rufocinerea) is named for its two-toned plumage – rufous above and grey below, with a slightly brighter reddish head. More likely to be heard than seen, it is a globally threatened species that, in Colombia, is confined to the Central Andes chain in dense, humid montane forest, where it lives on the floor and undergrowth.
