Black cheeked waxbill
The black-cheeked waxbill (Estrilda charmosyna) is named for the black side patches on its cheeks. Also known as the red-rumped waxbill, this East African resident feeds close to the ground in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Tanzania.
