The pink-headed fruit dove (Ptilinopus porphyreus) also known as pink-necked fruit dove or Temminck's fruit pigeon, has a distinctive bright pink or rosy head. The male pink-headed fruit dove is brightly coloured with a purple-pink head, neck, and throat, a white band with a greenish-black outline below the head, green upperparts, a grey belly, and yellow undertail coverts. The female is similar but much duller, with a less distinct breast band and a more muted pink. Endemic to the mountain forests of Sumatra, Java, and Bali in Indonesia, it is found in the upper canopy of these forests, where it feeds on figs, small fruits, and berries.
