The endangered green peafowl (Pavo muticus), also known as green peacock, has a vibrant emerald green plumage in both male and female. Males have the classic great train of the peacocks, which is opened and held up during courtship. The national bird of Myanmar, it used to be common throughout Southeast Asia, but now only a few isolated populations survive in Cambodia and adjacent areas of Vietnam.
