The white-spectacled bulbul (Pycnonotus xanthopygos) is named for the white circles around its eyes which look like spectacles. Alternate names for the white-spectacled bulbul include the several names used for other species (black-capped, dark-capped, spectacled and yellow-vented bulbul) and one name (white-eyed bulbul) shared with the cream-vented bulbul. It is the only bulbul over most the Middle East. It breeds in Middle East from Central and Southern Turkey, Western, Central and Southern Arabia, Western Syria, Lebanon, Western Jordan, Israel and Sinai.
