The black and white Indian pied starling or Indian pied myna (Gracupica contra) is a species of starling found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia on garbage dumps, damp grazing lands, and well-watered parks. Noisy with a variety of calls that includes mimicked sounds of other birds, it is distinguished by the deep orange patch around the eye that contrasts with its white cheek and its pointed yellowish bill with an orange base. It is often seen within cities and villages although it is not as bold as the common myna. It produces a rich repertoire of calls, including whistles, trills, buzzes, clicks, and warbling sounds.
