The red-cheeked cordon-bleu or red-cheeked cordonbleu (Uraeginthus bengalus) is a finch that probably gets its name from its colour - cordon bleu in French means The Blue Ribbon. A resident breeder in drier regions of tropical Sub-Saharan Africa, it is also known as the Red-cheeked Blue Waxbill, Uganda or Abyssinian Red-cheeked Cordon-bleu. These finches were introduced to the Hawaiian islands in the 1960s, where they are specifically found on the islands of Hawaii and Oahu.
