The Coconut Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) is called "coconut" because it is a significant pollinator of coconut palms. Also known as the green-naped lorikeet, the coconut lorikeet is relatively similar looking to the rainbow lorikeet, but has a black belly, a noticeably shorter tail, and a little less blue on its head. It is found in a wide area of the Australasian region, including eastern Indonesia, New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. It inhabits various lowland and wooded hill habitats like mangroves, rainforests, and nypa forests.
