The Abyssinian roller (Coracias abyssinicus), or Senegal roller, has a warm brown back, with the rest of the plumage mainly blue. Native to tropical Africa, its range extends from southern Mauritania and Senegal in the west to Ethiopia, Somalia and northern Kenya in the east. A roller gets its name from the aerial acrobatics some of these birds perform during courtship or territorial flights.
