The golden-crested myna (Ampeliceps coronatus) is a small, glossy black bird with yellow highlights on its head and wings, known for its distinct vocalizations and foraging habits in tropical forests. Males have more extensive yellow on their heads than females, and they are commonly found in pairs or small groups, primarily in the canopy. Found from north-eastern India through Indochina, Its main habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, but it is also found in heavily degraded former forest where they eat a variety of foods including fruit, worms, grubs, and garbage.
