The Shining Sunbeam or Copper-winged Hummingbird (Aglaeactis cupripennis) plumage is very different from most other hummingbirds - who tend to have a lot of green in their plumage. This hummingbird sports a striking copper-coloured plumage with some green tingeing to the wing. The under plumage is paler with some spotting on the sides. It clings to flowers to take the nectar and is an avid flycatcher. It is a territorial South American hummingbird that occurs naturally only in the subtropical or tropical moist montanes and high-altitude shrubland in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
