The red-whiskered bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus), or crested bulbul, gets its name from the red whisker patch located below its eye. The red-whiskered bulbul is native to tropical regions of Asia, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and the south China coast. But it has also been introduced in many other parts of the world. Its natural habitat consists of light woodlands, open country, bushlands and shrublands, as well as farmlands.
