The African grey hornbill (Lophoceros nasutus) is a widespread and common resident breeder in much of Sub-Saharan Africa and into Arabia. It is one of the smaller hornbills at 45 centimetres (18 in) in length. Males have a black beak and casque with white stripes along the underside and a white patch on the upper section. The beak of the female has a black lower-part, cream upper-part and casque and an orange-red tip.
