The rose-crowned fruit dove (Ptilinopus regina) is named for its beautiful pink crown and its diet of various fruits from vines, shrubs, and palms. It is also known as pink-capped fruit dove or Swainson's fruit dove. Found in the lowland and monsoon rainforests of northern and eastern Australia, as well as parts of the Lesser Sunda Islands and Maluku Islands in Indonesia, it can be locally nomadic, following ripening fruits, and drinks dew and water droplets from leaves instead of from the ground.
