The northern white-crowned shrike or white-rumped shrike (Eurocephalus ruppelli) has a white forehead, crown and nape. It also has a white rump, black eyestripe, brown back and wings and black tail. Its scientific name commemorates the German naturalist and explorer Eduard Rüppell.
