The Mealy Parrot (Amazona farinosa), one of the largest parrots in the Amazona genus, the Amazon parrots, is endemic to tropical Central and South America. Mealy Parrots have a patch of blue, purple, or violet on the top of their heads. There are five subspecies of Mealy Parrots. Some have a bluish tinge to the head whereas others sport a spot of yellow on the crown.
