The Great green bush cricket (Tettigonia viridissima) is green with an orangey-brown, rust-coloured stripe running the length of the body, and long wings. It has very long and thin antennae, which can sometimes reach up to three times the length of the body – differentiating them from grasshoppers, which always have short antennae.
A species of katydid, the Great green bush cricket is found in most of Europe, in the eastern Palearctic realm, in the Near East, and in North Africa.
