Australia's largest fruit dove, the Wompoo fruit dove (Megaloprepia magnifica) gets its distinctive name from its deep, resonant, and booming call, which sounds exactly like "wom-poo". They feature a rich purple chest and throat, a pale greyish head, bright green wings with a yellow wing-bar, and a yellow belly. Both males and females share this stunning plumage. The wompoos are masters of camouflage in their native rainforests and wooded areas of New Guinea and the eastern coast of Australia.
