The bright yellow Galapagos land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus) is endemic to the Galapagos islands. It is commonly seen lumbering through dry scrubland and eating vegetation, tender cacti (including spikes) and fruit. It has a symbiotic relationship with birds who remove parasites and ticks, providing relief to the iguanas and food for the birds.
