The Indian wild dog / dhole (Cuon alpinus) is a canid native to Central, South and Southeast Asia. Other English names for the species include Asiatic wild dog, whistling dog, red dog, and mountain wolf. Although the Indian wild dog is very similar in appearance to the African Wild dog and the Bush dog, it is the only member of its genus.
