The rose-fronted parakeet (Pyrrhura roseifrons) has bright red or rosy-pink feathers on its forehead and crown.
Also known as the rose-fronted conure, it is found in the western Amazon basin in eastern Peru, far south-eastern Ecuador, north-western Bolivia and far western Brazil. Its habitat consists of lowland evergreen forests and nearby clearings, foothills, and forests along rivers. These parakeets are very social birds, typically found foraging in flocks of up to about 30 individuals. Larger groups often gather at communal roosting spots at night.
