The elusive Santa Marta warbler (Basileuterus basilicus), known as the jewel of the forest, is endemic to the Santa Marta Mountains in Colombia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montanes and heavily degraded former forest. It has yellow and olive-green plumage and a striped black-and-white head pattern. The Santa Marta warbler feeds mainly on small invertebrates, although it also consumes berries, seeds, nectar and the juice of various fruits.
