The streaky seedeater (Crithagra striolatus) is distinguished from the similar Stripe-breasted and Streaky-headed Seedeaters by the pale sides of its face and the dark malar stripe. The conical bill is indicative of seed-eating birds. There is a broad white, sometimes yellowish, eyebrow stripe and a smaller stripe below the eye. It is a common highland bird across central and north-east Africa, where it is found at forest edge, in gardens and cultivation. It is also known as the streaky seed-eater, streaky serin, and the yellow-browed seedeater.
