Prevost's ground sparrow (Melozone biarcuatum), also known as the white-faced ground sparrow, has a white face, surrounded by a blackish forecrown, rusty crown, and a large blackish ear patch on the white face. Otherwise it is brownish grey above, with unstreaked, pale greyish to whitish underparts. It is found mainly in Central America. Its English name commemorates French naturalist Florent Prevost.
