The common woodshrike (Tephrodornis pondicerianus) is small and ashy brown with a dark cheek patch and a prominent white supercilium. Found in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, it is an insectivore, enjoying beetles, butterflies, their caterpillars, and spiders. The species found in Sri Lanka is now a separate species, the Sri Lanka woodshrike.
