The blue-winged macaw (Primolius maracana) is a predominantly green parrot with blue on its wings, tail, and sometimes its crown. It is one of the larger macaws, with a long, strong beak adapted for cracking tough nuts. Its habitat includes the borders of evergreen and deciduous forests, gallery forests along water, and palm groves, in eastern and southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, and formerly northeastern Argentina.
