The brown-rumped seedeater (Crithagra tristriatus) is named for its brown rump – though this is not always apparent as the bird is pretty much brown all over. It does, however, distinguish it from the white-rumped seedeater. This finch is found in the highlands of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia as well as towns, villages, gardens and agricultural areas.
