The grey-cowled wood rail or grey-necked wood rail (Aramides cajaneus) has both a grey head and neck. A monogamous bird, pairs can be found together throughout the year. It is found in the wetlands, bogs and marshes of Central and South America as well as flooded tropical evergreen forests, which are flooded either permanently or annually.
