The Golden-hooded tanager (Tangara larvata) has a golden head with a bluish face and black eyemask edged with violet blue above and below. Females have a greenish-yellowish tinge to the head, often with black spots on the crown. They are found in Central America and northern South America. The main diet is fruits and berries, but it consumes insects as well.
