The dazzling orange Dryas iulia (often incorrectly spelled julia), is commonly called the Julia butterfly, Julia heliconian, The Flame because of its vibrant orange colouring or flambeau. The sole representative of its genus Dryas, it is widely distributed from the southern US through to the subtropical regions of southern South America.
