The Malabar grey hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) is a hornbill endemic to the Western Ghats and associated hills of southern India – one of the nine species of hornbills found in India. It has a large beak but lacks the casque that is prominent in some other hornbill species. It moves around in small groups, feeding on figs and other forest fruits as well as lizards and small rodents. It is closely related to Sri Lanka grey hornbill (Ocyceros gingalensis).
