The white-eyed buzzard (Butastur teesa), a medium sized bird of prey, has a distinctive white iris. It lacks the typical carpal patches on the underside of the wings seen in true buzzards but the entire wing lining appears dark in contrast to the flight feathers. It is found in India, Iran, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Most of the bird's hunting is carried out from a perch, with a drop to the ground to catch some large insect or lizard.
